We just can't get enough!

Monthly Archives: March 2013

Ellie Carmichael had a crush on Adam Sutherland, her brother, Braden’s, best friend, for years, and although Adam treated her with proprietary concern he made it clear he thought of her only as a little sister.
Over the years, as Ellie’s crush develops into love, her romantic idealism makes it difficult for her to move on. To make matters worse, as she’s gotten older, Adam’s attitude has changed toward her. His affection for her is now joined by attraction, but his loyalty to Braden, and his fear of losing the only family he has, stops him from claiming Ellie the way she wishes he would.
But one night his attraction is put to the test, and as much as Adam would like things to remain the same everything changes between them in a simple brush of the lips.
Soon lust, love, jealousy and heartbreak combine to force change upon their relationship… and Adam discovers the hard way that life is too damn short to spend it on regret.

Book Heaux Rating: 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Why was this awesome book only a novella??? I am seriously going through withdrawal right now! What a sweet story! Until Fountain Road has seriously just opened my appetite! I NEED MORE! We got the history of Ellie and Adam through Ellie’s diary entries, and the story was beautiful! Samantha is one hell of a talented writer. Not only did this story make a huge fan of Ellie and Adam,n it also tied about many questions I still had from On Dublin Street by showing Ellie’s point of view on some key situations. The road to Ellie and Adam getting together was a loooong one, and it surely wasn’t easy. This just makes the possibility of their Happily Ever After feel that much sweeter. I felt every emotion I normally feel during a good book. I laughed, I was frustrated….and at the end…..My heart sighed.

And who knew Adam was so damn romantic?

“This morning I’m making love to you, because our first time should be about that”

I need more from these two, and I’m still wondering what the hell made Samantha not want to make her follow-up story about them? I have zero interest in Johanna… is that even her name?
I need to go reread On Dublin Street!!! *sigh*

Chloe hasn’t had the best life. With a mother who is gone more often than not, she has had to raise herself. After graduating high school, she leaves to start a new life away at West Virginia University with her best friends Amber and Logan, determined to leave her demons in the past.

On her first day, she meets a stranger who takes her breath away at first sight. Until she met Drake, no one had ever sparked her interest. Now this tattooed and pierced bad boy is all she can think about, no matter how hard she fights it.

Falling for Drake was never part of her plans, but when it happens, things seem to do anything but fall into place.

Dealing with a tragic past, Drake has never cared about anyone else but himself and his band. But when Chloe takes the empty seat next to him in class, things start to change. Instantly drawn to her, he begins to wonder if one girl can take a cold hearted womanizer and change every part of him?

Long hidden feelings are revealed and friendships tested to the brink.

Book Dames Rating: 4 Stars

So its really hard for me to give 5 stars to cliffhanger books, and love triangles. That being said I enjoyed this book, I mean it mentions my boyfriend Mr. Maddox and Drake sounds pretty hot who doesn’t like a bad boy rocker, yes please!  This book is about two broken characters that cause destruction around them because they are scared to try and be together. Yet can’t seem to stay away from each other. Drake Allen an up and coming rock star, who terrified of loving someone realizes that he can’t stop himself from getting tangled up with Chloe. Chloe is determined to stay on the path that will give her the safe love she desperately needs and fights her own attraction to Drake scared of where that will lead. Their path is bumpy and not easy. I found this book to be real, people make bad choices and are confused by what they feel like they should do and what they can’t seem to stay away from. I found the characters to be  true to their experience and age.

“We’re not good for each other, Drake. You said it all tonight, we’re a whirlwind and we destroy everything in our path when we’re together.”

I don’t want to give to much away but I need to start Twisted soon to see where this all lead.

With This Collar by Sierra Cartwright

Summary from the author:

Julia Lyle will have nothing to do with domineering men, no matter how tall, dark, and sexy. But Dom Marcus Cavendish will be satisfied with nothing less than collaring the fiercely independent Julia.
Nothing could have shocked her more…
Julia Lyle is invited to her best friend’s wedding and is stunned when Lana kneels to accept her husband’s collar. When Julia starts to object, firm, relentless hands land on her shoulders. The man behind her threatens to turn her over his knee if she interrupts. She’s outraged, but there’s no doubt he’s serious.
After the ceremony, he offers her a glimpse into her friend’s lifestyle, if she’s brave enough to accept.
Master Marcus Cavendish is everything she doesn’t want in a man—dominant, self-assured and arrogant. So why can’t she resist him?
Telling herself that learning about the lifestyle will make her a better friend, Julia agrees to submit to Master Marcus, but only for the evening. Firm and unrelenting in his handling of her, he introduces her to his tawse and the pleasure/pain of a spanking delivered by a competent Dom. The experience unnerves her, making her question everything she thought she knew about relationships, and his forced orgasms leave her shattered.
No doubt the scene seduced her, and that makes her doubly determined to avoid him. She has fought hard for her freedom and vowed only to date nice men, and Master Marcus is anything but safe.
Marcus is undeterred. Julia is a natural sub. The way she responded to his touch, his voice, his punishment proved it. Now he has to convince her to yield to him, submitting to his tawse as she kneels to accept his collar.

SassySub Heaux’s Book Rating: 5 Stars

Wow, this book was hot! I mean panty dropping, and fanning myself, hot! Marcus Cavendish has just rocketed past a lot of other super hot dudes to get to the top of my book boyfriend list. I think what I loved most about this book was that it almost felt like I got a mini introductory course into the more intense side of BDSM. Sierra Cartwright doesn’t just write about the spankings, and the handcuffs, but she takes us to that next level. With Sierra we get the collar, and even the leash. I love that Sierra’s characters are never perfect and always have their personal flaws. They are not super models but realistic people that a reader can relate to. I absolutely loved Marcus Cavendish! He was commanding, and loving, and honestly Julia never stood a chance. I loved watching Julia struggle with herself as she tried to fight Marcus’ dominance over her even though she knew she wanted to let it happen. The spanking scenes were definitely my favorite. I loved Marcus’ use of the tawse and later his own leather belt. Before this book i had no idea what a tawse even was. It’s a quick read but there is no shortage of super steamy hot sex scenes. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves strong Dom characters and lots of intensely erotic BDSM scenes. I was super excited to find out that this book is actually the first in a new series from Sierra Cartwright. Even better news is that the next book is out April 22nd!

Favorite Quote from the book:
“I want you to need a climax more than your next breath. You may not ever come unless I say so. Is that clear?”
“That sounds like a fantasy, Sir.”
“It is,” he agreed. “Mine. And your reality.” He gave her an open-handed slap to the cunt.

MUSIC OF THE HEART by Katie Ashley

Review by Feisty Book Heaux

Music of the Heart (Runaway Train, #1)

Author’s Synopsis

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn’t in his bed on purpose.
Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.
As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?
FEISTY GIVES MUSIC OF THE HEART 4.5 STARS!!
Katie Ashley has done it again!  I loved this book!  I could read it over and over.  What a beautiful love story.
Abby – She is funny and strong, feisty and sweet.  She is unbelievably forgiving and has a loving soul.  I don’t know if I could forgive some of the things Jake does.  She is one of my favorite female characters I’ve read.  She’s able to be kind and forgiving without being taken advantage of.  She can give as good as she gets.  She’s fantastic!
Jake – Bad boy rocker, man whore, gorgeous, you get the picture!  He’s a jerk in the beginning.  His transformation throughout the book is heartwarming to read.  He is having a hard time in life and Abby is just what he needs. She is truly his rock but he’s too afraid to see it at first.  The happiness he is seeking is well deserved. He has such a big heart and Abby sees through all the walls he tries to keep up.  I really loved him in the end!
I liked the first half of the book.  I LOVED the second half!  It has all the emotions you want in a story.  It will make you laugh, scream, cry and just smile.  The soundtrack is wonderful.  The songs really fit the scenes and add to the feelings.  Especially at the end.  I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away.  The only thing I will say is the end is bittersweet and the Epilogue is great.  Katie leaves it to where she could write many books with this band/bands.  I look forward to the other books in this series so we can see how Jake and Abby are doing and continue to see them grow together.  Their journey is one that will stick with you.   I love these two!
The secondary characters are awesome!!  I loved each band member of Runaway Train!  All the guys really look out for Abby.  Brayden is a lovebug.  I mean really, he is a great character.  His and Lilly’s story is so cute.  Lilly becomes friends with Abby and  helps her navigate the rocker romance.  Rhys is a sweetheart.  And A.J.  is so swoon worthy!  The Latin Lover is fantastic!  I liked him from the moment I met him.  Can’t wait for Rhys and A.J.’s books!
I’ll wrap it up now because if I don’t I’ll say too much!  I will leave you with this:  READ THIS BOOK!  MUSIC is a fantastic read.  I will be thinking of these characters for awhile.  From one Southern girl to another, Bravo Katie!

I wasn’t always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.

Colton didn’t teach me how to live. He didn’t heal the pain. He didn’t make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

Book Dame’s Rating 4.5 Stars

This was my first Jasinda Wilder book, and I wasn’t disappointed and surely it won’t be my last. So at first I wasn’t really sure if this book and I would mesh, I tend to need hand holding (which means I need a reading buddy,  SassySub Heaux usually gets cornered into it). I don’t do sad well, especially when the character is sick! If they’re dying I’m out!! So I was really nervous but I put my big girl panties on and dove in! The book is very emotional, but handled beautifully. The first half of the book is a sweet story about first love. We read about Kyle and Nelly finding love with each other after knowing each other their whole lives. It’s a tiny bit slow compared to the second half which brings us to Colton! Colt steals the show, what I wouldn’t do for more of his steamy hotness! He is the perfect amount of sweet, bossy and a recovering bad boy to boot! I was fanning myself, grabbing Book Heaux’s pearls!

” He laughs again. ‘You think you’re ready. You’re not.’  His voices goes husky. ‘But you will be, baby. I’ll make sure of that.’ “

That’s not even the hotness part! And I almost forgot to mention Colt plays guitar, sings, his lyrics are beautiful and he rebuilds engines! I really love that it a stand alone, no cliffhanger! Thank you Jasinda, but no epilogue which made me sad, I love reading where they are in a year or two! So go read, you may need a tissue or two but just remember Colton, so ya you may need new panties too! Enjoy!!

Are you looking for smut to read in between the smut you normally read? This book is the perfect short story to fill that void! This was a great novella, funny, awesome sex and a hot man…NAMED LUCA!! What more could a woman ask for? I really enjoyed this book, so much that I wish it was a novel so we could see more of these two! Anyone can write a sex scene, but not everyone can write a steamy sex scene!!! Kudos!!! These few chapters weren’t enough for me!!! I need more!! Can’t wait to read more books from Braxton!

I don’t know HOW Kimberly expects me to read the book, when I can’t stop staring at the cover!!!! Again!!!!! Her cover’s ROCK!!!

Ok…..so onto my review….. I seriously can’t get enough of Brandon and Spencer! Their chemistry radiates off the pages of this book! And the sex had me sweating like a sinner in church!!! LOL! Those two are definitely one of the hottest fictional couples I’ve ever read about! Although their relationship is awesome, there are just somethings is Brandon’s past that JUST WON’T GO AWAY!!! Thank God he’s such a good catch, other wise I would be telling Spencer to RUN LIKE THE WIND!!! Brandon really proves over and over in this book, that he is a damn good guy (And his Christmas gift to her wasn’t too shabby either!) I wanted a little more groveling from Travass! Maybe even some tears! LOL! I know that’s a stretch, but I really hate the guy!  I was soo glad Brandon handled him!

I really love this couple, and if you don’t know them… you NEED to meet them. Kimberly’s books always give you what you need. If you like hot sex.. they have ALOT OF IT!! Need some drama? Chock full O’drama. Need a good laugh? It’s funny!

I can’t wait for the final book, but let me say this. It better be UPS or Fedex at that door, because I simply CAN’T handle anymore drama!!….. Who am I kidding? Bring on the drama Kimberly!
