To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Book Heaux’s Rating: 5 Stars!!!!

I wish I could give Blaire a big ol’ hug!!! That poor girl lost her twin sister and her mother all before the age of 19 😦 The only person she can depend on is the father who walked out on her when she needed him the most. And when she tries to depend on him…. He fails her AGAIN!!! Blaire is honestly one of the kindest women I have ever read about, she’s a glass half full kind of person and I love that personality trait. And this is why she is able to find Rush attractive, and see the good in him. When I wanted nothing more than for her to find interest in someone else…. ANYONE ELSE! Maybe Grant? or Woods?

I wanted to shake her and tell her she deserved better!!!! But she had a thing for Rush, and although he had a funny way of showing it…. Rush had a thing for her.

I spent the first half of the book disliking Rush, and mumbling to myself “What is his problem?” Even when he was showing concern for Blaire, I was still annoyed! LOL! I felt like every time Blaire encountered Rush h e was sleeping with someone…. And it was a different girl……….EVERY TIME!!!

But eventually I got sucked in, and began to enjoy watching Rush and Blaire fall for each other. Rush knew all of the right things to say, and the right times to say them. Most of my friends were able to figure out the plot twist once Nan was introduced. I guess I was too busy being entranced by this amazing love story developing, to think about anything else.

And then there was ANGST!

The love wasn’t enough. Everyone always said that love was enough. It wasn’t. Not when your soul was shattered.”

The was this book ended was mind-blowing!!! I LOVED the way Blaire finally stood up for herself…. And Rush, well he better practice groveling!!!!

I can’t wait for the next book!!!! Great job Abbi Glines!
