Undying Love by Nelle L’Amour – Review by Feisty

He is Ryan Madewell, a heart stoppingly handsome Harvard grad from one of Manhattan’s wealthiest families, who’s on his way to heading up his father’s media empire.

She is Allee Adair, a beautiful but sassy art school grad from the wrong side of the tracks, who dreams of living in Paris.

Despite their many differences, Ryan and Allee are instantly smitten with each other over a Picasso nude. They share a steamy, passionate love that dares to challenge everything –including Ryan’s ruthless father, his revengeful ex-girlfriend, and Allee’s dark secrets. Only, it may end too soon.

Here is an erotic love story that will make you laugh and cry. It will stay in your heart forever. Love means never having to say goodbye.

Excerpt:

When I arrived at the Met, it was after nine. Hundreds of people were flocking out of the front doors. I was panting. My eyes searched the crowd in desperation for her. I hoped I wasn’t too late. Finally, after the crowd had thinned, I spotted her. She was wearing a drab gray wool coat and a striped knit hat along with a new pair of eyeglasses that were almost identical to the ones she’d left at my loft. She looked worn-out as she trudged down the steps. Fuck. Maybe something was wrong with her. I mounted the steps two at time, hoping to meet her half way.

“Allee,” I shouted out to her.

Her mouth dropped open when she saw me. She galloped down the steps, attempting to run past me, but I caught her and held her firmly in my arms. She squirmed, trying to break away, but she was no match for my strength. I studied her face. Her eyes were painfully sad and her cheeks were sallow. She had lost weight.

“Get away from me, Madewell,” she begged. There were tears in her eyes.

I didn’t let go of her and, in fact, squeezed her tighter. “Why haven’t you returned my calls?”

“Madewell, please! Let go of me.” Her voice was watery and desperate.

“No, you’re not going anywhere until you answer my question.”

“I don’t belong with you. You’re too good for me.”

“No, baby, you’re too good for me.” I pressed her even tighter against me.

Thunder roared in the night sky.

“Please! I’ve gotta go home and get ready for a massage client.”

Maybe she had just been overworking. Fuck her client. I tugged hard at her ponytail that hung out from under her funky hat. “You’re coming home with me.”

“I can’t.” She blinked back tears. “You don’t understand—”

“Stop it!” I crushed my lips against hers, hushing her, and pulled her down to a sitting position on the step where we were sparring. She couldn’t resist my assault. Her tongue hungrily met mine, and a hot bolt of energy surged through my body.

Lightening flashed, and another loud burst of thunder followed. The sky opened up, and torrential rain fell upon us. But it didn’t stop us. Soaked, our embrace deepened, the warmth of it fending off the icy chill of the pounding drops. I don’t know how long it lasted, but she was the first to pull away. Wet streaks rolled down her cheeks… tears, not the rain.

“Why me, Madewell?” she asked, her voice hoarse and strained.

“Because, Allee Adair, I’m suffocating without you. You’re the air I need to breathe.” Cradling her in my arms, I removed her rain-streaked glasses and brushed away the shimmering rivulets dripping down her face. Just the mere touch of her infused me with light.

She looked deep into my eyes, hers still watering. “Oh, Madewell, I’m so afraid.”

“Afraid of what, baby?” I held her tear-drenched face in my hands.

Her lips quivered. “That I’ll hurt you.”

That wasn’t possible, I thought as I swept her into my arms and carried her down the rain-soaked steps, my lips never leaving hers.

***

I carried her straight into my bathroom steam room. She was shivering wet. I set her down and rapidly peeled off her drenched layers of clothing. I removed mine just as fast. She let me wrap my arms around her naked body and hold her close to me as a cloud of steam warmed us. Tears were still streaming down her beautiful face, mingling with steamy mist. I sealed my mouth over hers and kissed her deeply and passionately. With my lips still covering hers, I lifted her up off the water-coated tiled floor.

“Wrap your legs around me, baby,” I breathed into her ear.

She did as I asked, twisting her long limbs around my waist like a pretzel. I carried her to the edge of the steamy room and pressed her against the dripping wet back wall, just high enough so that my cock could shoot easily into her glorious pussy. Her arms wrapped around my shoulders.

“Baby, I’ve missed you so much.” I studied her angelic face, made dreamy in the steamy haze. My lips latched onto to hers and pressed into another deep, tongue-driven kiss. Her velvety breasts skimmed my chest. I groaned as my girth grew between my legs.

“Oh, Golden Boy,” she rasped as my mouth released hers. “Make me come.”

Feisty’s Review:

With love, there are no goodbyes.”  Allee O’Neal

Ok, I’m going to be very honest about this book.  I think the story is a good one but I had a hard time believing the chemistry between Ryan and Allee.  The interactions felt a bit forced and strange at times.  The story is told from Ryan’s POV.  Ryan Madewell is a rich, handsome billionaire and Allee O’Neal is a girl from the wrong part of town working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  She is smart and sassy and is nothing like the debutantes Ryan has been forced to date.  He sees her in the museum and goes to ask her about a painting.  As they interact, he finds himself very drawn to her.  I found it interesting that he pursues her and she pushes him away.  She won’t let him pay for anything on their first few dates, even when they grab a coffee she pays for her own.  She tries to stay very independent and attempts to keep her distance.

As the story progresses, we find out that Ryan didn’t have the best childhood.  His mother is a lush and his father is an arrogant ass who Ryan can never please.   He was raised by his nanny, Maria.  Allee is an orphan from artist parents.  Having been in foster homes growing up, she has an independence imbedded in her that Ryan has a hard time breaking through.  She is working two jobs hoping one day to live in Paris.  They fall in love fast and get married even faster.  There are twists that you might see coming but there is one I guarantee you won’t!   The story moves quickly, but I can safely say I had no idea what was coming!  I was totally floored at the ending.  And I mean floored!

The last quarter of the book is the best part.  It’s truly an emotional roller coaster and it’s here you see the devotion and love these two have for each other.  There is closure to lead into book two of the series.   Love the book cover!  Enjoy!

Beneath This Man Review by Naughty Heaux

Authors Synopsis:

It has been five days’ since Ava O’Shea left Jesse drunk and raging at Lusso – left behind a man who drowned her in his intensity and blindsided her with his touch. Getting over this man was never going to be easy. And now he’s back in her life. She has questions she needs answering, but her determination to get these answers will give the pleasure-seeking playboy the power to destroy her again. She needs to keep her eyes wide open and caution at the forefront of her mind, an ambitious intention when Jesse Ward is within touching distance. And he plans to be. He’s dark, he’s broken – Ava knows this, but the only way to find out how dark and how broken is to get beneath the steely exterior of this man.

REVIEW:

Beneath This Man picks up exactly where it left off with Ava having walked out on a drunk Jesse, and the realisation that Jesse has not been seen for 5 days. When Ava finds him she realises that he has been on a mad drinking binge and is totally comatose, looking like he is dead to the world.

Dear ‘Lord’ if you think Jesse’ behaviour is erratic and crazy in THIS MAN you have not seen anything yet. In BENEATH THIS MAN he steps it up several notches, is even more possessive and determined, and will do everything in his power to keep Ava safe. He tramples over anyone who tries to get in his way and makes no apologies whatsoever. Yes Jesse is still the ‘arse’ we have come to love!:)

Ava knows his weakness for her and cannot help but fuel his madness! She isn’t afraid to give Jesse a taste of his own medicine at times, and without giving anything away lets just say she had me howling with laughter when she brought a little black diamante vibrator into the bedroom. I love that about Ava in this book, she begins to stand up for herself and becomes stronger and more feisty. As the story progresses Ava is not averse to a bit of trampling herself, when she realises just how consumed with jealousy she is over the many ladies of the Manor that want to prise Jesse away from her. It is at this stage that the strong and ‘don’t mess with me’ Ava surfaces. I really enjoyed Ava coming into her own and it added humour to the drama which was all encompassing.

Of course I love Jesse even if he is prone to craziness and madcapped outbursts. He absolutely adores Ava and when I was on ‘Jesse Cloud Nine’ there was no one to light a candle to him. He is sweet, sexy and so endearing. There are many heart melting moments that left me in a puddle of mush I can tell you.

With that said, Jesse has many demons to conquer and Ava is only coming to discover how much these demons have come to shape the man that Jesse is today. It is also a learning curve for him and since he has never been in a proper relationship he has no idea how to act in one… hence the crazy behaviour. He has to learn to believe that Ava truly loves him, and that he is deserving of that love. He needs to let go of the control he hangs on to with a vice-like grip.

The story isn’t all madcap drama, even though there was enough to do me a lifetime. The book is awash with sexy scenes that I have to say left me breathless. Umm, let’s just say I will never look at a Rowing Machine in quite the same away again 😉 The sex in this is off the wall hot and steamy!!

I love Jesse and the drama that surrounds him. The drama is like a runaway train, and I have to say I spent most of the time sitting at the edge of my seat, totally gripped waiting to see what was going to unfold next. I cannot wait for THIS MAN CONFESSED which is due for release in July of this year. Well done to Jodie Ellen Malpas for an amazing series. Read it, I promise you will not be disappointed.
