How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?
After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer’s outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career—until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it’s a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she’s always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?
Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott—but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn’t come easy. The woman he finds isn’t the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamour, a life that includes him?
Book Dame’s rating 5 Stars
I thought this book would never get here!! I have been looking forward to this book!! I had a mixture of excitement and dread, I was so worried that I would be let down since I was so excited!! It was better then I ever expected. It never dragged or disappointed me. I loved it! I laughed, I cried and I couldn’t put the book down!!! I have to say Laurelyn and Jack Henry have a beautiful story, but at times Jack Henry’s mum stole the show!! Love her and her feisty personality!!! And of course Jack Henry had me swooning with his love and devotion on finding Laurelyn!! I also adore Laurelyn, love that she a strong leading character that doesn’t play games! I don’t want to give away anything but to say why do we have to stop at 3 books! I could happily read a whole book about Jack Henry mum beating him with her purse!! I really really love this series and if you haven’t read it you are missing out!!! A wonderful story about finding love and keeping it, when when you weren’t really looking for it! Without a doubt a book series that must read!!!
Feisty’s two cents:
Dame was kind enough to let me add to her review for this book. Ok, it’s great!! I mean I wasn’t expecting much when Dame had me read these and I was blown away! I was lucky book two was already out, because if I had to wait, I would have gone crazy! I love these two! JH is so sexy in book one and he’s so genuine and loving in book two. He is determined to get his girl. There are no games, no stupid scenarios, just good old fashioned angst and drama. And Dame’s right, JH’s mother is fantastic! I LOVE HER! She’s the perfect mom for JH because he needs an ass kicking at times. Laurelyn is a great female lead. She stays honest and true but knows when to say when, ya know what I mean? I can’t explain more for fear of giving too much away. It’s a lovely read and I can’t wait for book three!!! And really, we could handle a book four too. There’s a lot of directions their story could go.
