SassySub’s Review of Knight (The Unfinished Hero Series) by Kristen Ashley

SassySub Heaux’s Book Rating: 5 Stars

Summary from the author:

Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.

Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.

Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.

Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.

But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.

WOW!!!! Just WOW!!! I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book but found myself pleasantly surprised after just a few minutes of starting it. Let me warn you right now, this is not your typical feel good sexy romantic love story. This is about a guy who deals in illegal businesses but still strives to have a regular loving life with the woman he loves. He knows what he does for a living is not acceptable, and illegal, in society but he’s involved in the business because he wants to provide the women that work for him a safe environment. He understands that women will always work in the sex industry and so he sees an opportunity to allow these women to sell their bodies in the most safe way possible by providing security for the women and checking out all clientele. So Knight becomes a hero not only to these women selling their bodies but also to his woman Anya for whom he will do anything necessary to protect. It was an interesting story line and I absolutely fell in love with Knight. He takes Alpha male to a whole new level for me. He is demanding and bossy and takes what he wants, when he wants. And Anya loves it. I loved her innocence and the fact that she had a pretty rough life up until the night she meets Knight for the first time. It was nice to see a woman who had been struggling to make her way through the world alone for so long meet a man who loved her and wanted to take care of her. This story is certainly not for the faint of heart as there are many taboo subject addressed in this story. The sex scenes were smoking hot. Knight is brusk, controlling and down right hot and so damn bossy I couldn’t even believe it. I loved it! I loved that he made Anya call him Daddy while in the bedroom. Kristen Ashley managed to pull it off flawlessly. The dialogue is a little hard to get used to at first. It’s a little more abrupt and not at all flowery like your usual romance novels. Knight is abrupt and short with his demands the way you would expect someone like his character to talk. A lot of times authors make even the bad guys sound like they are well read and educated men. It always makes the story line so much less believable for me. Kristen Ashley’s take on the bad guy actually being able to be a good guy made for a really interesting and fu read for me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves their alpha male heroes and of course super hot, and controlling, sex scenes. I just want people to be aware that the story line might be unexpected, and morally unacceptable, but it should not deter anyone from reading this really well written book. It is fiction after all. I am very much looking forward to the other books in this series.

Favorite Quote from the book:
“You just gave yourself to me, that includes your pussy, your clit. It’s mine, Anya, you don’t touch it unless I tell you to. Even if you’re close and want it, you let me give it to you unless I wanna watch you helpin’ me. Clear?”
