Hi Monica. Thank you so much for taking the time out to do this interview with us. One Week Girlfriend pulled me out of a serious reading rut and now I’m a big time fan of yours!
Thank you so much Karleigh I appreciate you asking me these great questions! I love that OWG pulled you out of a reading rut. I’m flattered.
Ok, first we will start with a few serious questions, and then do some rapid fire.
Where did you get the idea for this series?
I saw a local newscast about a teacher who was arrested for having sex with her 17 year old male student. It started my brain churning about the differences teen boys who are victims of molestation and how they’re viewed versus teen girls. Then it sort of took off from there…
What is your favorite scene from each book?
One Week Girlfriend – the scene in the back of the car when Drew and Fable first kiss.
Second Chance Boyfriend – the scene where Fable’s out with Jen and she texts Drew to come see her. That moment when the girls are gushing about how hot he is and Fable’s smug knowing that he’s all hers…that was fun to write. Oh and the end of SCB too. I cried when I wrote those last lines.
What was the hardest scene for you to write in each book?
Anything to do with Drew and Adele and what she did to him—those scenes just broke my heart. OWG was harder to write versus SCB only because he was dealing with a lot of terrible stuff in the first book and unable to talk about it to anyone. I can’t imagine what that would be like.
What are you working on next?
I am…working on something right now I can’t discuss! But I hope I can say something soon.
Rapid-fire questions. Don’t think, just answer.
Celebrity crush: Chris Hemsworth
Weirdest phobia: I hate touching rubber bands. They stink. And they feel weird.
The best time of the day for sex: Night!
I’m totally addicted to: Diet Coke and Bravo TV
Marriage is: Awesome
The best compliment I’ve been given was: You’re my favorite author! (that means so much to me I swear)
The most important lesson I’ve learned about love: It’s not easy but when you find it and make it work, it’s definitely worth it.
If I could pick four people to have dinner with, dead or alive, I’d choose: Um, my husband and three kids? I really like those people so…LOL.
Sex on the first date is: Sometimes a mistake and hey, sometimes not. 😉
The illegal thing I would do if I could get away with it: Jewelry thief
The quality I like most in a man: Sense of humor
The comfort food I crave most: chocolate cake
The best gift I’ve ever been given was: My daughter! She was born two days before my birthday.
Most Embarrassing moment: Tripped and fell in front of a bunch of people
I feel sexiest when: My husband kisses me
5 book boyfriends: I just…I can’t narrow it down! There are too many great book boyfriends out there! So I’ll say my own: Drew, Colin, Owen, Matt, Gage and Archer (whoops that’s six)
My favorite drink is: Malibu rum and pineapple juice
If you could be any character in fiction, who would you be? Pretty much any romance heroine because she always gets her man.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? I’d want a golden lasso and wear those cuffs on my wrists. Basically, I’d want to be Wonder Woman.
How would you describe yourself in three words? Loyal, giving, funny.
And of course,
I’m a purse, book and shoe Heaux! (I have issues)
